Rumors
Rumours has an incredible atmosphere. It is a very inviting restaurant with friendly staff members who assist you with every meal. Their steak is one of the restaurants’ specialties and is served with vegetables and many choices of side dishes and sauces. Rumors menu also includes pastas, pizzas, and freshly baked breads.
All the ingredients and materials, including the meat are supplied fresh. Rumors is very affordable and suitable for all travel groups.
Hint- Try the strawberry dacquiri's
Kuni's Japanese
Kuni's is a Japanese restaurant that expertly mixes together their passion for food, design and atmosphere. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two or as a treat for the kids it offers the highest quality blend between traditional and modern Japanese food in Bali.
Hint - Try the Kushi Yaki (grilled foods on skewers) which you can cook on your own Japanese barbeque.
Chandi
Chandi’s menu presents a gastronomic twist on Indonesian cuisine using organic spices and greens. The head chef Agung Nugroho has worked in New York City in some of the top restaurants including Nobu, Spice Market and Budhakan and has bought mixed his international flair with the love and appreciation he has for the Indonesian culture and created a restaurant where he aims to cater to the 'glamour people and health nuts' of Seminyak.
Hint - Order the steak on the stonegrill that you cook yourself.
Mamasan
Where most Bali restaurants are open-air, making it difficult to escape the heat, Mamasan is fully air-conditioned on both levels. The restaurant itself has been described as a feast for the eyes while the food is described as a feast for your soul. The food is a combination of Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, Malay, Singaporean, Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese so for lovers of Asian food this restaurant is a must.
Hint - You must order the Thai fish cakes.
Ultimo
Ultimo is literally up the road from Villa Mahasari. It is an Italian eatery with a modern interior and they have a live band that play at night. The restaurant is usually booked out so it is recommended that you book. This restaurant is perfect for all travel groups whether it be a quiet dinner for two or a table of 20. Ultimo is very affordable and the food is fantastic.
Hint - Order the Chilean wine 'G7''. Tasty and very affordable.
Sarong
Fitted out with luxurious curtains and comfortable sofas and dining chairs, this restaurant is the height of oppulence and elegance in Bali. It is well known for it's blend of spicy dishes and takes it's flavour influence from Indian, Malay, Vietnamese and Cantonese dishes.
Hint - If you are not accustomed to overly spicy food make sure you request your dishes to be prepared 'mild'.
Trattoria
Perfect for a quick bite to eat or a casual dinner with the kids. Known for their pizza, Trattoria is an Italian restaurant that also does take away dinners for those nights that you just want to stay in at Villa Mahasari with some comfort food.
Hint - Their margherita is fantastic!
La Lucciola
With it's intimate atmosphere, beach front location, fairy lights and al fresco dining La Lucciola is a very special restaurant that every person travelling to Bali must treat themselves to. Bookings are highly recommended as this place is a favourite of many Bali travellers.
Hint - The cocktails here are world renowned. Whatever you order will be fantastic.
Sardine
While Sardine is known for it's beautiful food and beautiful atmosphere it is the backdrop to your dining experience that will catch your breath here. Situated on a rice paddy field the restaurant brings the wow factor with it's blending of traditional and modern Bali. The menu changes every day depending on the catch of the day and the vegetables, herbs and salads are sourced from an organic vegetable garden in the Balinese mountains.
Hint - Stay on after dinner and have a few drinks on the lounges close to the rice fields to really soak up the serenity and beauty of the surrounding environment.
The Living Room
Known for it's eclectic Asian flavours the Living Room provides a very romantic setting with it's elaborate floral display, twinkling glass bells and festive music. Perfect for an intimate dinner for two but also flexible enough for large groups this restaurant is a must try.
Hint - Head across the road to Hu'us for a dance and a few drinks after dinner.
La Sal
A Spanish restaurant and lounge that offers great food in a very sexy, sleek, outdoor environment. Known for their large selection of amazing tapas and grade A beef, La Sal is the perfect place to enjoy with friends.
Hint - Book ahead for this restaurant!
Potato Head
Potato Head brings the 'wow' factor to Bali with it's architectually forward design and it's beach front location. Perfect for groups drinks, an intimate dinner, a base to swim during the day - this location offers something for everyone.
Hint - Grab a lounge and order some cocktails to watch the sunset here.
Metis
Chef Nicolas 'Doudou' Tourneville, formerly of Cafe Warisan, brings his legendary talent and culinary artistry to the table with a masterful combination of French Mediterranean cuisine. Flawless service in one of Bali's most elegantly sophisticated settings is just the beginning of this seduction into the depths of the five senses.
Hint - The salted butter caramel millefeuille is to die for.
Gado Gado
A restaurant with a long-standing reputation and history in Bali, Gado-Gado is located on the beach and provides a romantic backdrop for a fantastic dinner. Situated along Seminyak beach. The menu features freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters and fusion cuisine as well as some vegetarian dishes which are all well prepared and presented.
Hint - Fantastic selection of wines here.
Ku De Ta
One of the most desired dining locations in Bali Ku De Ta serves genuinely gourmet global cuisine with an International Mediterranean twist. Open from morning to night, Ku De Ta is a must visit. Fantastic atmosphere, amazing cocktails and exceptional service.
Hint - Go to Ku De Ta for lunch and order one of their pizza's. Affordable and unbelievably tasty.
The Breeze - Samaya Villa
Fantastic for sunset drinks and located at The Samaya Resort this restaurant offers exotic international and local dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach front setting, great sunset views and the sound of the waves make this one of Bali's most romantic places to dine.
Hint - This restaurant is very pricey so if you want to splurge on an intimate dinner for two and leave the kids at home, this is the place.
The Rock Bar (Ayana Resort)
To really see what Bali has to offer and to be absolutely floored with the beauty, setting and atmosphere of a venue, you must take a trip to the Rock Bar at Ayana Resort. Located on the side of a cliff overlooking the sea this bar is perfect for some afternoon cocktails to watch the sunset. Once the sun has been tucked away and you have picked your jaw up off the floor make your way to Jimbaran Bay for a fresh seafood dinner on the beach. The food here is second to none and the atmosphere is relaxed, vibrant and unmissable.
Hint - Try Menega Cafe at Jimbaran Bay. It will cost approximately $80AU to feed four people (crab, lobster, calamari, fish etc).
